Membean is a unique vocabulary learning tool that helps students learn and remember words. In addition it enables each teacher to monitor and comprehend an individual student's learning.

How does a student learn with Membean? See a two minute video to find out.
Each student proceeds at her own pace. Membean manages the learning process.
It's important to remember what you learn over the long term. Membean encourages students to build rich interconnected knowledge networks of each word. Word learning is not restricted to definitions alone. A smart practice engine monitors student learning and periodically refreshes memory.
Discuss these videos with students. It's important that a student understand that knowing a word is not just knowing a simple definition. The goal is to promote word consciousness. A student doesn't have to learn everything in a word page, but is free to choose the pieces that interest her.
See alerts from all your classes in one convenient dashboard. Access any words or roots instantaneously.

1 Get a cumulative summary of important indicators across your class. The number of questions answered will climb rapidly. This is to be expected since words are quizzed many times.
2 Monitoring average time spent training across a month is important to quickly take corrective action if learning falls below a pre-determined threshold.
3 Generate reports for each student. Analyzing these reports provides insight on student performance and provides the opportunity to discuss learning progress with the student.
4 A pie chart shows you the current vocabulary level (on a scale of 1 - 5) distribution across your class.
5 Create and administer a custom quiz for each student in seconds. Each student is given a different quiz based on words that she has already learned. You'll even get reports on student performance.
6 Monitor all your students using a simple table. Keeping a watch on Last Session is a useful way to detect and follow up if a student misses multiple sessions.
See learning progress of every student in your class via convenient reports. Follow up promptly if learning falls below expected thresholds.
1 See a concise chart of training activity this time period. Students who spend a disproportionate time restudying words might be going too fast during learning.
2 Monitor how much time each student has spent training this activity period.
Pop quizzes or assessments are not required in Membean because the Reinforcement Engine constantly quizzes each student. There is enough data in our various reports to assign grades if required. Many teachers, however, like administering quizzes; this is easily accomplished by our customized assessments option. From your class dashboard a single button click will create customized quizzes for each student which are automatically administered when a student logs in. Results are then collated for your review.
Read below or see a video that shows how simple it is to create a quiz.
Once the teacher creates a quiz (with a click of a button) it is automatically administered the next time a student starts training.
1 Since each student learns a different set of words, every quiz is customized for each individual student.
Quizzes are automatically administered and results are collated for review.
1 All quizzes are automatically scored. If a student does poorly it's highlighted.
2 See the percentage of students who have completed the quiz.
3 You can delete the entire quiz set at any time.
